Elementary Spanish Instruction
All District Grades 1-5    Tim McMillen
This program provides a qualified Spanish teacher for elementary students to continue building second language skills.

Publishing Kits
Clarksville  Grades 3-5 – Chris Mitchell
The publishing kits provide each student with a hard bound copy of one of their own stories to foster confidence and pride in their work and school.
 
Nature Center Naturalist Program
Woodland Grades K-5 – Ann Nagi
Woldumar Nature Center offers a Traveling Naturalist Program. The Naturalist cultivates student awareness of "The Three R's in Recycling." 
 
Recycling Initiative Equipment
Sunfield Grades K-5 - Kristin Heinze
Recycling bins have been purchased to give students experience with the practice in the school building. Volunteers will haul materials to the recycling center in Sunfield.
 
 Classroom Performance System
LMS – Kelly Shumway
This technology is a tool for giving immediate feedback as teachers quizz students who answer with handheld devices that display immediate results. Teachers see where the class is in need of further instruction and can adjust lessons to meet the needs.
The devices will be available for use in all academic areas.
 
 2 Mac Book Computers
 LMS – Kelly Rowland
These computers will add resources to the homework room enabling students who may not have a computer at home to complete assignments.
 
 Live Theater
LMS – Libby Kinsey
This grant provides scripts, costuming and set materials for a live theater production to be directed by four local women volunteering their time and talents.
 
Theater Set Building Tools

                                                        LHS - Ken Smith
2 paint sprayers, a drill and mitre saw were purchased to enable students to participate in set construction for the theater department.


30 Flip Video Cameras
LHS –  Shirley McMillen
The Flip video cameras will be available for teachers to checkout from the media center to use with lesson plans. Teachers have received training on new Apple computers that often incorporate Flip Video technology.
 
 30 Math Navigator Systems
LHS – Eric Hall
This device allows instant teacher assessment of student comprehension. It enables math teachers to have greater classroom effectiveness as problem areas can be quickly identified and addressed.
 
Educational Health Media

LHS - Grades 9-10 - Keith Carpenter

This grant supplies updated DVD health instructional material addressing current issues in health such as obesity and addictions.


E-Readers
 LHS Special Education English – Shirlee Holston
This device gives access to reading material with options for varying text size enabling easier word decoding for students who often have anxiety about reading.
