Updated Science Equipment

Middle School – Kelly Shumway
This initiative provides funding for updated science equipment including portable scales for all middle school science classes.

 

Digital Camera

Woodland Elementary – Patricia Nisbet
This initiative provides funding for a digital camera for the First Grade at Woodland Elementary for use in documenting special events and experiences.

 

Art Lessons

Woodland Elementary – Woodland Elementary Teachers
This program provides funding for art supplies and expanded lessons for grades 1 through 5 to encourage creativity.  An instructor is donating the time to teach the lessons.

 

Publishing Kits

Clarksville  Grades 3-5 – Chris Mitchell
The publishing kits provide each student with a hardbound copy of one of their own stories to foster confidence and pride in their work and school.

 

Elementary Spanish Instruction

All District Grades 1-5  –  Tim McMillen
This program provides a qualified Spanish teacher for elementary students to continue building second language skills.

 

CD/ DVD Duplicator

Middle School – Russ Miller
Funding provides the ability to purchase a duplicator for use with school productions and events, increasing access to rehearsal materials.

 

Quiz Bowl

Middle School – Betsy Wieland

Provides the financial support required to sponsor a middle school quiz bowl tournament hosted at Lakewood.

 

Convertible Tablets

Woodland Elementary – Mary Jenks
Provides funding for convertible tablets for use in the fifth grade to aid in instruction and increase flexibility  and effectiveness in the classroom.

 

Books – The Schwa was Here

Middle School – Paul Cryderman
This grant purchased 175 copies of The Schwa was Here for use with middle school students.  The book teaches tolerance and encourages inclusion.

 

Geo-Motion Sets

Middle School – Mark Farrell
This grant purchased geo-motion sets, geo mats and instructional DVDs to encourage physical activity.

 

Live Theater

LMS – Libby Kinsey
This grant provides scripts, costuming and set materials for a live theater production to be directed by four local women volunteering their time and talents.

 

TurnItIn Licenses

High School – Keith Kadwell
This grant provides funding for licenses for plagiarism detection software with editing, peer review and grading tools.

 

Theater Lighting System

High School – Ken Smith
Two portable, 3 point lighting systems for the publications/ drama department.  This product introduces students to future technology.

 

Theater Set Building Tools

LHS - Ken Smith
12 speed drill press, 4 inch drill press and ladder to enable students to participate in set construction for the theater department.

 

Outdoor Recreation Class

High School – Robert Veitch
This grant helps fund a recreation class to encourage appreciation of outdoor activities.  Funded in part by the DNR and focused on a variety of nature-based programs.

 

Digital Presenter

West Elementary – Tal Thompson
Wireless tablets (ELMO) provided for grades K through 5 to increase flexibility in the classroom and improve focused instruction.

 

Fine Art Supplies

All Elementary Students – Beth Foltz
